The federal No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) requires all states, school districts, and schools to provide annual report cards to parents and communities. The report card displays statewide as well as district achievement data in the areas of reading and math for students in grades 3-8,  and at the 3rd year of high school. Science achievement is reported at grade 5, 8 and at the 3rd year of high school. Report Card information can be found here.

Hermon Elementary School Is Thinking GREEN!

 

During the last several years, HES teachers have begun a program to reduce the amount of trash generated at our school. We are pleased that No Sort recycling has come to HES, and do our best to direct all appropriate items to those containers.

We are encouraging all students who bring juice or water to school, to use some type of refillable bottle. This is a win-win-win endeavor: your child will learn a valuable lesson (Maine State Learning Results: Science and Technology C3), you will help our school (and planet), and you will save $$$.
